I have always felt that some of the novels and books that I've written would make good game concepts. I always imagined them as roll playing games like say Dungeons and Dragons. Not because I dabble in Dungeons and Dragons (I'm Dungeon master when my group plays), nor is it really because much of the monsters that I use come from the D&D world. It's really just because that when I am writing in this world I can see it being played out as one would play a table top roll playing game.
I started the history of it a couple of weeks ago but didn't get to far on it. Today I spent all morning working on the history and flushing out how this world looks. I have even described some of the main races, IE, Elves, Dwarves, Halflings, and Humans and ECT.
I have to figure out the gods and all of the races as well as the classes still.
I have to decide and figure out the game rules, I'm not sure if I want to base the rules on the current D&D rules. I find the D&D rules to be rather complicated (really to much time spent on figuring out hit damage and such).
But I do have two games for it started.
I also have to figure out how my stories and Novel fit into the game history.
I think it might be fun to have other players, play in my world and expand on it. But first I have to get the main concept mapped out and defined a little more. I kinda hope that I can get this part done over the week end.
I'll also have to do the maps, but I'll worry about that later on.
